Ultra-High Vacuum Ф4 Scanning Kelvin Probe
The Ф4 Ultra-high Vacuum Scanning Kelvin Probe system gives the user full access to work function measurements under vacuum with the ability to alter the temperature from 77 K to 860 K. The Kelvin Probe measurement has resolution of 1 - 3 meV for a 2 mm tip on a conducting sample. The sample is mounted on a plate that is located on a motorized (x, y, z) translator attached to a stainless-steel vacuum chamber. Phi 4 also comes with a photoemission spectroscopy system with a tuneable source (3.4 - 7.0 eV). The deep ultra-violet (DUV) light spot measures approximately 3 x 4 mm. Absolute work function measurements can be obtained with this system in the range of 4.0 - 6.5 eV with an accuracy of 0.05 - 0.1 eV.

UV Cameras
Solar blind UV cameras are imaging devices optimized to detect ultraviolet light of wavelengths below about 280nm. Such cameras are insensitive against sunlight due to negligible sensitivity to visible and long wavelength UV light. Solar blind UV cameras are used in a series of applications like corona detection, fire detection, combustion analysis, plasma research, testing UV lamps, etc. However, highly sensitive corona detection is the main mass application and these devices are of crucial importance in electric power industry. These imaging devices enable easy detection of degraded insulators of high voltage transmission lines, distributions and substations. They can see the emission of UV light when discharges occur at defect insulators. From design point of view solar blind UV cameras are actually bispectral imaging systems built by combining true UV camera with typical visible camera. These bispectral imaging system generate output image as overlay of typical visible image with UV image of analyzed UV source.

Avantes Deuterium light sources are known for their stable output ad are used for UV absorption or reflection measurements. The standard AvaLight-DH-S mixes the halogen light with the Deuterium light, thus producing a wide spectral range light source. The X1-1 radiometer from Gigahertz-Optik features an RCH-116-4 detector and is ideal for measurement of the irradiance of high power LEDs in the UV-A and blue light range. The device can accurately measure irradiance levels of up to 40,000 mW/cm². One of the outstanding features of the RCH-116-4 detector is its proven concept of a passive radiation absorber coupled to a UV sensor. This provides stability even in high temperature and intense UV radiation environments. In addition to the passive radiation absorber, the device also has a cosine-corrected field of view. The sensor’s housing also serves as a handle. The battery-powered X1-1 optometer supports a usable dynamic range from less than 1 mW/cm² to 40,000 mW/cm² thanks to its high-end signal amplifier. It can be used to perform precise measurements of up to 5 standard LED wavelengths for which the detector was calibrated for active irradiance. In addition to the CW measurement function, the device also has a dose measurement function. The radiometer can be used with other detectors from the RCH series. e.g. for gas discharge lamps. Remote control of the device is possible via its user software and a software development kit is offered for integration of the device in the user’s own software.
