The GT98901 Demo board is a USB controlled, cost-effective, multi-function PCB assembly. The module is completely self-contained and includes an LCD display, measurement and stimulus resources, digital I/O, relays, and switches – all of which can be accessed and monitored via the USB port using a SCPI command set via a USBTMC interface which supports the USB488 protocol. Power for the board is provided via the USB interface, providing a totally self-contained assembly which can provide users with a simple yet complete vehicle that replicates many of the stimulus and measurement functions associated with ATE systems. Teledyne Defence & Space’s Instantaneous Frequency Measurement (IFM) module, also known as a Digital Frequency Discriminator (DFD), offers high speed frequency measurement across the full operating bandwidth.The IFM measures the frequency of RF signal present at its input and presents a result at its output as digital data. The RF input signal is conditioned by an RF amplifier that provides sufficient drive for the frequency resolving circuits. The raw video from the resolvers is digitised and processed into the required output format. There is additional timing and control circuitry which initiates the measurement process and provides handshake data to the host system processor.

Current Transformers
The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers defines a current transformer (IEEE Std C57.13) as “a transformer intended to reproduce in its secondary circuit, in a definite and known proportion, the current of its primary circuit with the phase relations substantially preserved”. Its primary winding is connected in series with the conductor carrying the current to be measured or to be controlled and its secondary winding is connected to the measuring, protection or control devices. Osborne designs and manufactures current transformers which are used for instrumentation applications, others which are used for power system synchronizing applications and others which are used in protection circuit application. They have been designed to meet specified current ratios, burden impedance and transformation errors.
