Monochromators
Diffraction gratings are specified by a line density in grooves per millimetre. The higher the density, the greater light is dispersed resulting in a relatively limited spectral extent. Furthermore, in general , the higher line density gratings are optimised for short wavelength use and vice versa. One must take into account the available grating(s) and the operation range of such before deciding how many gratings are required to cover a given range. Where multiple gratings are required, one can opt for a multiple-grating monochromator which would allow performing a spectral measurement over a great range, or whether a single (interchangeable) grating monochromator is used and the measurement performed in two or more parts.

Triple Monochromator/ Spectrograph
Omni-λTripple Series
Omni-λ 500 Triple Monochromator/ SpectrographThe Triple Monochromators/Spectrographs include three 500 mm focus monochromators which are with fine alignment. The first two monochromators as the dispersion subtraction are used to reduce the stray light. The third monochromator as dispersion sum configuration is used to improve the resolution. And each unit can work well as the monochromator, and the two unit can also be used as the double monochromator. The first and the second monochromator are the side entrance and double exits, the third monochromator is the double entrances and double exits, it is easy to connect the CCD and PMT, the single channel detectors. There are three import gratings in each monochromator, and the spectral range is located in deep UV region, the middle UV and visible region. Each grating reflectivity can be up to 70% in their spectral region. Mainly used in high grade Raman spectroscopy measurement, such as UV-resonance Raman spectroscopy.

Monochromator Gratings - Type IV
HORIBA Scientific produces a wide range of holographic master gratings from which high precision replicas are manufactured.Using Type IV aberration-corrected monochromator gratings, a single concave grating disperses, collimates, and refocuses the light from the entrance slit onto the exit slit. Wavelength scanning is obtained through a simple rotation of the grating. The groove spacing of these gratings is computer-optimized to produce high quality images with a minimum of astigmatism and coma, even at large numerical apertures. Compared with Czerny-Turner monochromators (equipped with one plane grating, one collimating mirror and one focusing mirror), Type IV aberration-corrected monochromator gratings provide much better light collection efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio.

Fourier Transform Optical Spectrum Analyzer, 600 - 1700 nm
OSA202C
Thorlabs' Optical Spectrum Analyzers (OSAs) perform highly accurate spectral measurements. Compatible with fiber-coupled and free-space light sources, these compact benchtop instruments suit a wide variety of applications, such as analyzing the spectrum of a telecom signal, resolving the Fabry-Perot modes of a gain chip, and identifying gas absorption lines. Many commonly available OSAs use grating-based monochromators, which have slow acquisition times due to the need to mechanically scan the grating and average out noise at each wavelength. Thorlabs' OSAs acquire the spectrum via a Fourier transform using a scanning Michelson interferometer in a push/pull configuration. This approach dramatically improves the acquisition time, enables a high-precision wavelength meter mode with 7 significant figures and ±1 part-per-million accuracy, and allows the included software to provide robust statistical analysis of the acquired spectra, as explained in the Design tab.
