Edge Press Technology Bed of Nails Testers
Protector Edge Press Family
Designed for testing heavy massive boards. Boards with heavy components like large transformers and inductors can destroy normal test fixtures. This design utilizes a 3 plate system where an internal lever actuated sub plate containing the test pins raises to probe the circuit board when the handle is pulled. Heavy boards can bend and break exposed test pins. Similarly large boards which need to be probed by very small delicate test pins can also benefit from this protected test fixture design. This fixture is recommended in situations where there is a high board mass to pin size ratio and pin protection is required. Front and rear panel modular inserts allow for easy updates and customizations to the user hardware interface.

Round Wire Coil Inductors
Round wire coil (RWC) inductors come in six platform sizes and enable the highest efficiency of any SMT inductor through the use of a low loss ferrite core material which minimizes AC losses and also eliminates thermal ageing. The use of round magnetic wire instead of rectangular flat coils enables a lower cost while still maintaining a low DCR and small footprint. The platforms have passed the AEC-Q200 stress test qualification proving the designs robustness and suitability to difficult environments but the parts are not IATF certified. Saturable Reactor Inductors
Osborne Saturable Reactors are designed to provide a variable output voltage through the use of variable impedance connected in series with a constant impedance load. Each saturable reactor’s impedance is determined by the application of DC power to a control winding. As the level of power supplied to the control winding is increased, the saturable reactor becomes more saturated. This reduces the impedance of the AC gate winding, and increase the amount of the supply voltage that is transferred to the load. Conversely, as the power is reduced to the control winding, the reactor becomes less saturated, the gate winding has more impedance and less of the input voltage is provided to the output impedance. This approach provides excellent quality, reliability, and control when designed to match the requirements of a specific application.
